Our Leadership

Matthew has been CEO of Awaze since January 2025, having first joined as Group CFO in 2023. Before Awaze, Matthew was Group CFO at two listed companies, Global Fashion Group SA and Moneysupermarket.com plc.

He has extensive experience in finance and general management roles, both in the UK and internationally, at consumer and online businesses including Costa Coffee, Sodexo and Sainsbury’s.

Helen has been with Awaze for over 25 years and has been the Group’s Chief People Officer since 2019.

She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience of people and culture across Awaze’s European footprint and of integrating acquisitions.

Helen is passionate about leadership, engagement, and communication with our large office and field-based teams.

Simon has over 20 years’ experience in the travel industry and joined Awaze in 2019 as Chief Commercial Officer following the acquisition of Hoseasons.

He has deep experience of driving digital transformation, growth and guest/owner operations in VRMC, and enhancing Holiday Park experience.

Jennifer joined Awaze in 2024, having previously worked in senior roles at Sky Digital and NOW TV, as well as in the e-commerce and insurance industries.

Jennifer brings a deep understanding of growth, product, e-commerce, and end-to-end customer management.

Gavin has been CTO of Awaze since 2024, having previously worked in senior roles, including CTO, at major companies including IKEA, Paddy Power Betfair, Global Fashion Group, and Tesco.

He is a passionate technology leader with a strong track record in technology transformation and delivery.

Martin has been Awaze’s Group Chief Product Officer since 2019 and brings over 20 years of Product experience with a focus on the travel industry and mobile.

He is currently the Chairman of the Danish Vacation Rental Industry Association, and before joining the business, he held senior product roles at Kayak and momondo.

Simon joined the Awaze team as Chief of Staff in June 2024.

Prior to joining the business, he worked at PwC, where he was the Director in the firm’s Corporate Finance practice. He brings over 10 years’ experience advising Travel & Leisure businesses on capital raising transactions and strategic initiatives.

Dan joined Awaze in 2021 and was appointed General Counsel in 2025.

He brings a deep knowledge of legal and regulatory issues affecting the vacation rentals sector. Dan has experience as a corporate and commercial lawyer, senior legal roles in the travel sector including Thomas Cook, Manchester Airport, and is a member of ABTA’s policy advisory board.

Sharla first joined Awaze in 2023, and was appointed Chief Finance Officer in October 2025, having previously served as Interim CFO.

Prior to joining Awaze, Sharla held senior finance roles at high-growth digital platform businesses, including as Group Financial Controller at MONY Group.
