Paul Evans brings 24 years of travel industry experience to his new role, which sees him take responsibility for the company’s entire property portfolio across its Hoseasons, cottages.com and regional brands.
Joining after a 12-month stint as Director of Overseas Development at luxury golf and beach resort Royal Westmoreland, in Barbados, he will be drawing on a 19-year career at independent holiday park business Waterside Holiday Group, as well as a number of management roles at Park Leisure 2000, as he looks to develop the Awaze UK offer to customers and owners alike.
Speaking about his new position, Evans said: “I’m absolutely thrilled to have joined Awaze UK at such an exciting time for UK holidays. Staycations have never been more popular and the standard of accommodation available has never been better. We have an incredibly talented team, a brilliant set of owner partners and a once in a lifetime opportunity to showcase our product to the biggest possible audience – something that can create a long-lasting legacy for domestic tourism for many years to come.”
Evans, who says he wants to be visible to, and build mutually-beneficial relationships with as many of Awaze UK’s property owners as possible, is based in north Cornwall, where he lives with his wife and two sons.
“We are delighted to have Paul onboard,” said Simon Altham, Group Chief Commercial Officer at Awaze UK.
“We were looking for someone to join the team with a deep understanding of the UK holiday industry from the property owner’s perspective. Paul fits the bill perfectly given his years of experience in the holiday park and hospitality sectors, and you only have to talk to him for a few minutes to realise the passion he has for the industry runs through his veins.”
