cottages.com reports bumper bookings for Norfolk’s hottest destinations

Norfolk celebrates a sensational summer, as figures from the UK’s largest holiday cottage company, cottages.com, show an increase in bookings to the region year on year*, and a record breaking Bank Holiday across the country.

Some of the most popular destinations within Norfolk have seen an uplift of almost two thirds for 2017 in the peak summer weeks, proving the county is more popular than ever for UK holidaymakers. Experiencing an uplift of 56%, Great Yarmouth has seen one of cottages.com’s highest uplift in bookings for arrivals this summer, along with Wroxham (+17%), Wells-next-theSea (+13%) and Horning (+11%).

The region’s spectacular countryside and unspoilt coastlines could be to thank for the surge in holiday bookings, with growing numbers choosing to explore the UK this summer. It’s not just Norfolk’s main destinations which have seen a surge in bookings – the region as a whole boasted an 88% occupancy level in the peak summer weeks.
Commenting on the impressive booking figures, Victoria Schofield, Area Manager of Norfolk at cottages.com commented: “It’s great to see that so many people are visiting the region and experiencing everything that it has to offer.”

“We’re thrilled that we are able to work with so many property owners, who are welcoming increasing numbers of visitors to the area, and further showcasing the beauty of our region. It also goes to show how great the opportunities are for property owners who are considering starting their very own holiday let, with such high occupancy levels.”
